 it's fun to be Bonn...

Lessia Bonn has been penning songs for and producing gifted young singers for many years. On her roster;  Viva Gore--daughter of Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, Jessie Bridges--daughter of actor, Jeff, and Rachel Sand, a young actor sharing a manager with Hillary Duff. Lessia recently served as songwriting/producing consultant helping create the award-winning rock band Loomis and the Lust  (MTV/Billboard magazine). She has co-produced material alongside Alan Thicke for Alan's son, R&B singer Robin Thicke. Before moving to northern California she created, produced and performed on the popular Santa Barbara TV show Enlightenment Stew--a delightful mix of campy humor, deep wisdom and common sense. Alongside Isabelle Bridges Boesch she co-founded Truth be Told; a mindful music site for tweens at www.BridgesandBonn.com

For many years, Lessia served as ringleader to a giant fun-loving teen pop choir known as Crew. Crew  became a "Santa Barbara phenom" (Montecito Journal--see press page). Kids lovingly referred to Crew as  "church" since meet-ups, held every Sunday morning for years, were more about feeling supported than singing perfectly.  With teens confiding in Lessia daily, she realized she could make an impact by penning wisdom into songs. "OMG--your songs are so deep--they're saving my life!" This VBL site was born as Crew  alumni began recording in a Montecito shack.

Lessia has recently joined forces with crew alumnus, Jaan Landheer,  to co-found I am Bullyproof Music. (www.IamBullyproofmusic.com) Their mission is to enlighten teens through empowering music that broadens their perspectives and keeps them strong. Classroom discussions, assignments and the songs themselves will teach teens they have more choices than they believe. No one has to be manipulated by other people's moods and whims. If bullies show up, kids will now be armed with tunes  that create a fresh outlook.

Along with the creation of a bully-proofing interactive site and music-filled program for classrooms, Lessia and Jaan also plan to place their material in film. Three film treatments based on timely true stories are currently available--each incorporating Bonn/Landheer music as a backdrop.

IABPM's rap chant video Occupy is featured in Duffy Hecht's documentary Santa Barbara Occupy.
